I love the way this book weaves together mundane daily events to slowly create happiness and a chance at love. Bea is the insecure result of a body-shaming mother and controlling former fiancée. The parents of her best friend and roomie, Scarlett, invite her along to work at their British castle hotel for the summer. The castle chef recognizes Bea's obsessive calorie avoidance and inconspicuously teaches her about food and nutrition. Friendships with other castle staff help build Bea's confidence. And secret love blooms with Scarlett's awkward, moody, nerdy scientist brother Jasper, causing a sky-high eruption when they're discovered. The Bea/Scarlett friendship fractures, and a misunderstanding drives a wedge in the Bea/Jasper connection. Bea runs to London but realizes she needs to go back and try to make things right with a castle full of furious people. Can she do it? Will love triumph?
